Get to know Tien

Tien is a practical and friendly individual who has years of experience helping others during her work as a Social Worker after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Sydney.

As a Social Worker, Tien helped people understand English forms from Centrelink, Department of Housing, NDIS and hospital forms. Tien has also studied online courses in business English to help teach English to people from non-English speaking backgrounds and people with disabilities.

She has also completed a Diploma in Library Information Services in 2020, and completed volunteer work online through editing grammar and punctuation in various authors’ novels in 2021 and 2022.

This form of work has sparked a passion in education which is what led Tien to pursue tutoring! Tien’s teaching style includes using visual learning with pictures and objects to illustrate complex concepts to young students. She loves showing students how the theory can be then applied to the world around us!

In her spare time, Tien is usually babysitting her baby nephew and teaching him English – starting him young!
